How to fix iPhone “Select All” text option missing  ? : iOS 16.6/iOS 17

With addition of new features in the latest iOS 16.5/ 16.6 , Apple have added many features to it. Now it seems like the Apple is also cutting off some of the features. Recently some iPhone users reported that after updating iPhone to latest iOS 16.5/ iOS 16.6/ iOS 17“Select All” option while  highlighting the  text is missing from the iPhone.  The iPhone iOS “Select All” popup menu item disappeared for all iPhone and iPad models.

In iOS 17 or after iOS 16.5 iOS 16.5, the “select all” option when highlighting text on iPhone is missing and due to this it becomes very difficult to copy paste text on iPhone.

One user reported

“select all” option was there a usable prior to iOS 16.5 but now it is gone. Select all has always been a text select feature but apple seem to have accidentally removed it.”

The select all feature is missing from iOS 16 version release and Apple have removed it from the iOS patch. There are no `official report why Apple have made these changes but many users are not liking the change. If you also want the feature back then please report it to Apple and hopefully the feature will be added back.

Surely Apple needs to get this feature back. Meanwhile you can use a workaround to  select all text on page on iPhone which is to use triple tapping text to Select all of the textbox. This works for only Text box not the normal page.
