Many iPhone , macOS users are reporting issue that mirroring is not working after the Sequioa update. The issue is Apple user in Europe only. European Apple customers are outraged by the fact that, despite paying the same price as U.S. customers for Apple devices, they are denied access to the same features. This situation is seen as unacceptable. While DMA regulations may contribute to the issue, it is Apple’s responsibility to ensure that all customers, regardless of region, receive the full value for their purchases.
This disparity needs to be addressed immediately, as European customers should not be treated as second-class compared to those in the U.S. The issue must be resolved by Apple promptly.
Apple’s iPhone Mirroring feature seems to rely on Device Attestation. While this is a complex process, it basically ensures that both the Mac and iPhone recognize each other during a connection and verify the user’s identity through biometrics or passwords. The DMA regulations would mandate that Apple make this feature compatible with Android, which raises Apple’s security concerns. Surely Once again the EU being overly regulative
It’s not going be available this year due to EU enforcing DMA. But good news is that you can now sign in to the Mac App Store with an non-european account. That’s already enough to let you use iPhone Mirroring. Hopefully for time being this helps you.
