Apple has been quite innovative with the iOS 17 and new features like “check in” released in this package. The second feature automatically inform your friend or family member when you reached at a particular destination. Fix : All devices should be on iOS 17 ?

The iOS 17 check in feature will only work when both iPhone are on latest iOS 17. If you are trying to send check in message to an iPhone user who is running on iOS 16 previous version then you will see error “check in is not available to send to this recipient”. So before using the feature please ensure that all iPhones are running on iOS 17.

Fix : Check Location sharing Settings 

The second function works on location services. Please make sure that location services are enabled in your iPhone for the message app. The location sharing settings can be a reason which can prevent you from sharing Check-in details. Go to iPhone settings ->location and services and check if the location services are turned On for Message app.
