Meta provided Airlink features to its Quest 2 users and in no time it became famous. The feature is known as Oculus Air Link which is a completely wireless way to play PC VR content on Quest 2 using WiFi. It can support high graphic rate upto 120 Hz.

But now after V54 update that Quest user are reporting issue while playing using Airlink. The issue is Quest Airlink lags a lot after V54 update. The lag is noticeable up to 5 seconds, the screen is stutter while moving in playspace or moving head. After this update the air link is laggy, jittery to the point of being unplayable and annoying.  Due to this the users cant use Oculus PCVR for games or anything.

Why Quest Airlink lagging ?

There can be many issue which can cause stutter to the Quest on Airlink. As per reports the Quest Airlink lag issue is known to Meta and this issue is due to issue in the software/codec. The Meta team is working for permanent fix for the issue but even in the new update V55 the issue persists.

How to fix Quest keeps stuttering on Airlink ?

Since the issue is at due to new update installed on Oculus Quest and Meta team is expected to provide a permanent fix soon. However you can try below  mentioned possible workaround to fix lag issue in Quest.

Go to the file path C:\Program files\Oculus\Support\Oculus-diagnostics\Oculus Debug Tool\ . Inside of it, select the number value next to encode bitrate (mbps) and change and set it to 0, hit enter. After this click file at the top, and select restart as administrator. Allow it to run, and then check again and ensure that the value still stays to 0 afterwards. If it changes to other value then 0, then try to change it 0 again and try restart. Then close it and the stutter should reduce significantly.
