Google TV turns off by itself when listening to Music/Spotify

Google TV users are facing weird issue while listening to music on their TV. The Google TV turns off itself while watching or listening to music. The issue is more prominent while listening Spotify. For many users the Google TV Sony XR-65A80K turns off by itself when listening to Spotify.

The issue started recently after latest software release and many users are affected with this issue for many days now. Now on Google TV while using Spotify apps will go to sleep mode after 10-15 min and will stop playing the songs. Earlier the screen used to stay awake all the time and Spotify app was working normally.

If you are also facing the same issue then this could be due to various reasons, But in most of the cases such issues are caused due to default settings changes. However this is surprising to note that the Google TV is working fine with the YouTube music and only the Spotify app turns off after some time in Google TV.

As mentioned the issue is linked to latest software update in Google TV. To fix Google TV turning off with Spotify, Go into settings, system, then power and energy and set the “When inactive” to NEVER. This should stop Google TV from turning off when playing music.
