How to fix iOS 16 not connecting to Apple CarPlay ? iPhone 13/12 Pro Max

Many iPhone 13/12 Pro max etc users are facing issue with the latest iOS 16 version that they are not able to connect CarPlay with their iPhone. After iOS 16 the car it doesn’t recognize the device. This is annoying issue as iPhone user can’t use carplay after iOS 16 upgrade.

With the older VPN the iPhone works with the Carplay and connect fine. It is just that after iOS 16 the issue started randomly. iOS 16 is reported with many bugs and Carplay bug is addition to that. The issue is surely with the Software side as the older iOS version was working fine with CarPlay.

Fix : Turn off VPN

If you are using any VPN software in your iPhone/iOS 16 then this could be the reason due to which CarPlay will not work with the iPhone. Please delete any VPN or third party apps installed in your iPhone.

Fix : Try hard reboot

Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

• Press and quickly release Volume UP button
• Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
• Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF). 

Fix : Reset iPhone

If Carplay is not working after iOS 16 update then this could be due to software gltich during the upgrade process. To fix that try resetting the iPhone to default settings. In this process your data will not be delete but only the setting will be set to default. Go to iPhone Settings-> General->Reset or Transfer iPhone -> Reset all settings.
